Re: Guss has tekn a bad turn :(
Thought I'd give you all an update on Guss.
So he's been in and out of the vets over the last couple of weeks, But they still can't pin point whats causing him so much pain and panic, They thought it might be his prostate, so he had meds for that, still on meds for his heart and meds for a possible mouth infection.
But still the pain continues, it seems like it could be in his mind, like he has dementia of something, because sometimes if you stand near him, its like he thinks you've stepped on him and he goes into one of his episodes.
He doesn't do anything all day other than sleep, he barely moves or makes a sound, he isn't fussed by treats and no longer gets excited when my mum comes home
On the positive side he still loves a walk and gets excited about them.
But the vet told us see how is over this week, then we may have to seriously consider getting him PTS
just now he has started being sick, I've cleaned up about 4 lots and I can hear him doing it in my mums room, which my dad is now clearing up, after coming home from the night shift.
Poor Guy I really hope Guss gets better :'(

Oh bless him, poor boy. Have they done full blood tests and everything? I suppose at his age sometimes vets feel its kinder to let them get on with it instead of root around too much

yeah he's hard blood work, x-rays, a general feel around a prostate exam (which he did not like!) my mum wants to make sure its nothing thats easily curable really, we don't want to pts if it was something that could have been treated easily, he seemed perkier today

I imagine blood work would have shown up most problems, maybe his body is just telling him he's got to take things easy?

Re: Guss has tekn a bad turn :(
I'd like to annouce......
Gus is back to his usual self!
Barking for treats again
Barking and getting excited when my mum comes home.
Eating alot more
He's more active
and.... he hasn't had an episode in over a week
Turns out he did have Kennel cough so that may explain the lethargy, my mum took him back just over a week ago and another vet said, no he definitley has it, my mum said all the other vet did was rub his throat and see if he coughed, so the other vet gave him some anti-biotics and they seemed to have turned him right as rain
Luckily Kita hasn't re-caught it, She must of built an immunity to it when she got it before.
he obviously still has his bad heart mumur but its soooo gooood to see Gussy back to his old self again!
