Dog Treat Recipes

Post by Florence24 on Fri Jun 10, 2011 11:08 pm

Anyone got some?

I have made tuna cake a couple times:

Tin of tuna (either drained from brine or I also used a John West with sunflower oil that said no need to drain, didn't seem to make much difference though!)
1 or 2 x egg
100/130g plain flour

You can basically do anything with it but the dogs love it Smile

I have some mackerel in tom sauce and sardines in tom sauce I might experiment with next time. I have made liver cake but cannot bare the smell of it cooking!!

Anyone got some nice recipes? Frances on here had some FAB garlic ones at Koda's bday party would love the recipe for those Razz

Flo, Tried that Recipe, well kinda, got some kibble, crushed it up, put in a whole can of tune with spring water and added a raw egg yolk and mixed it all up in her bowl.

She LOVED it! Wolfed it down Very Happy

too much garlic is bad.

Cheesey Tuna Biscuits

50g grated cheese
50g drained tuna(bout half a small can)
100g plain flour
100g soft butter

Mix all ingredients to form dough, add a little water if it's too dry but you may not need to with the tuna)
Roll out onto floured surface to 1/2 cm deep and cut out shapes.
Bake in oven 180C for 10 miins till golden in colour.
Cool on wire rack and watch dog go nuts for em!!! Very Happy

This is a recipie I use for cheesy biscuits for the kids lunches, they love them, we all do. I just halved the cheese amount and added half tuna to it. If you take away the tuna and add another 50g grated cheese you have the cheesy biscuits.

Great recipie, easy, quick, yummy and versatile. Smile

Sounds good that recipe HM! I will give it a go in the next month or two when Rupert is hopefully over his colicky thing. Strictly speaking he's not meant to have anything but carrot, worried of ODing him on Vit A though so letting him have some of the basic tuna cake (flour, egg, tuna only).

Sounds very nice though that! Very Happy

Ooh yum I bet she did love it! Rupert adores his fish, he seems to digest it a lot better than he does most other things too I love you
